Louis de Villiers formerly known as Skullboy with “Sacred Currency” and Kylie Wentzel with “SWEAT” at the Kalashnikovv Gallery”. The exhibition is on from 30 November to 18 December.
This exhibition is very edgy and energetic. In the artist statement Louis de Villiers says that he “explores the idea of social value through brand hieroglyphics and product placement”. His graphic design training is evident in his work.
As you walk in you are faced with two hanging painted pieces of cardboard with graffitti-like slogans in the same colours as the art-works on the walls.
These works by Louis de Villiers.
