Nine hundred years of time and space, and I've never been slapped by someone's mother. Well, you're very similar heights. Maybe you should wear labels. Oh, I always rip out the last page of a book.
Thank-you for sharing Elsje.
I hit the Jacana book sale and got some really lovely bargains. They are a South African publishing house with a wide variety of books. The sale is on until the 31st of October so don’t dally and get yourself to the sale. 10 Orange street, Sunnyside near the Gasworks Johannesburg. There is a large selection to choose from.
Just look at the box full that I got.
I got a few isiZulu childrens books for the grandson. The illustrations are delightful. They have almost all of the South African languages in childrens books.
This is a book about a young Nguni calf questioning his identity. The book explains myths surrounding cattle. The author is Maryanne Bester and the illustrator is her sister Shayle. Together they run a company as decorative painters and illustrators, specialising in children’s art. What a treat.
Don’t you love the illustrations. I can’t wait to get started on my stash!
